Through this strategic partnership, Ava Labs will help drive BLRD’s growth in the blockchain gaming sector, providing technical, marketing, business, and ecosystem support. As per the official announcement, BLRD also plans to work with Ava Labs and the Avalanche Foundation on other projects, including joint investments with the Blizzard Avalanche Fund.
“BLRD will contribute to improving the performance, security, and decentralization of the Avalanche blockchain through validator node operation and will distribute games on the Avalanche blockchain,” the official press release reads.
Commenting on the latest development, Eiji Araki, Director at BLRD, said, “I’m excited by the potential of the Avalanche network and its ecosystem. We will deliver a brand new game which will be enjoyed by players for long years as we have done in web2 games.”
Ed Chang, Head of Gaming at Ava Labs, spoke on what the partnership entails: “GREE has a decade-plus track record of making games that players love with timeless IP. We’re thrilled that they’ll be building on the gaming chain, Avalanche and partnering to make its future even brighter. Ava Labs has all the tools to help GREE grow into a Web3 gaming powerhouse.”
This partnership is, however, not GREE-BLRD’s parent company’s first association with Avalanche. GREE controls more than a dozen Avalanche validator nodes and has always participated actively in the Avalanche primary network and gaming Subnets. GREE also holds Avalanche’s native token, AVAX. AVAX is currently trading at US$17.26, +0.91% in the last 24 hours.
